The ideal candidates will posses outstanding troubleshooting and problem solving skills and attention to detail with a focus on customer service. Technical aptitude in single stage refrigeration systems, cascade refrigeration systems, electrical/electronic troubleshooting, understands programmable controllers, and EPA certification is required. Environmental chamber repair and calibration experience is a plus and training will be provided/required. The candidate must be willing to travel.

PMEL Calibration Technician

ACR Technical Services has an immediate opportunity for an Electronic Calibration Technician at our calibration lab. The ideal candidate will perform electronic calibrations and/or repairs on general purpose and/or specialized measuring test equipment. This is a team atmosphere primarily in a laboratory location and/or customer sites. This is a regular full-time position.

Position requires US Citizenship for security clearance purposes. Must have an active secret clearance or be able to obtain one.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical – Performs calibrations and repair in the following skill areas, applicable:

Electronic standards
LCR and Impedance
Oscilloscopes
RF/microwave power, frequency, and impedance
Spectrum and network analysis, time interval, and frequency
Voltage & Current
Waveform analysis, phase, and distortion
General purpose and specialized military test equipment
Physical/Dimensional measurement devices
Communication, Organization, and Interaction – Regularly interacts with other technicians and/or customers; interaction normally involves exchange or presentation of factual information, often as the specialist in a particular technical area.

Must be organized and able to handle multiple projects at one time.

Must be able to accomplish assigned tasks in the time budgeted for completion.

Must be capable to generate written memos, letters, technical reports, procedure manuals and work instructions for customer Quality System requirements.

Responsibility, Accountability, and Decision Making – Normally receives no instruction on routine work; general instructions on new assignments; applies job skills and company policies and procedures to complete a wide range of difficult tasks; works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Formal training in Metrology, such as the Precision Measurement Equipment Course (PME) or TMDE gained through the Navy is highly desirable and/or minimum of an Associates Degree, preferably in a technical discipline specific to calibration with 3+ years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic circuit theory
  • Must be able to read circuit schematics and identify components within those schematics
  • Successful candidate must be able to travel to offsite customer locations
  • Must possess good analytical and PC skills
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Occasional standing and bending required
  • Qualified candidates must possess a strong commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record
